The intuitive, drag-and-drop interface is deceptively simple; under the hood lies a high performance, low latency, multithreaded audio engine that scales from simple plug-in chains to multi-layered keyboard patches all the way to mixing an entire live band complete with side chains, pre/post-fader sends and auxiliary channels.
Plug-ins
Plug-ins are deeply integrated into the app experience, blurring the boundary between host and plug-in.
The elegant single-window design displays a plug-in’s UI in the main window alongside the Mixer and Library. Having everything in one place clears up clutter, reduces friction and puts those gorgeous and inspiring plug-in interfaces front-and-centre where they belong.
Flexible options let you decide how plug-in views share the screen with the Mixer: auto-sized, fixed 50/50 or full width. And if you prefer a traditional plug-in experience with multiple floating windows, there’s an option for that too.*
Audio FX
Connect microphones, guitars and other instruments and shape your sound with Audio FX plug-ins.
Virtual Instruments
Play Virtual Instruments with layers and splits from your MIDI keyboards and controllers.
MIDI FX
Get creative with arpeggiators, sequencers and other MIDI generator plug-ins.
The Library is home to all your Audio Units, sorted in a simple list or grouped by manufacturer. Navigating the Library is a breeze with separate tabs for MIDI FX, Instruments and Audio FX, each with its own search bar and favourites filter - you’ll never have to hunt for the right plug-in again. You can even hide all the unwanted demos and trials you might have accumulated over the years.
Widgets
Plug-ins are displayed as Widgets - beautifully simple mini-panels that contain the most relevant plug-in controls. They’re completely customizable, letting you add knobs, sliders and switches that can be mapped to any plug-in parameter. Widgets offer immediate hands-on control of parameters across many plug-ins in a very compact space.
An extensive collection of themes is included, many inspired by the vintage hardware of yesteryear.

Scenes
Sessions Pro lets you switch and blend twelve totally independent Scenes with seamless, natural transitions. The Session Mix grid provides a bird’s eye view of all twelve Scenes with easy-to-see and easy-to-reach buttons so you can focus on your performance, not the technology.
Macros
At the bottom of a Scene is the Big Knob and sixteen Macros. These can be configured to adjust multiple parameters - all with individual and independent scales and ranges - offering limitless potential for realtime control.
Use external MIDI controllers and pedals to switch Scenes, adjust Macros and more.
Backing Tracks
For performers who use backing tracks, Sessions Pro can load and play individual audio files or a set of stems that can be mixed during playback. Each Track can be set to play once or loop indefinitely.
For ultimate flexibility, tracks can be played directly to the main output or routed via the Mixer for further processing.
Ableton Link and MIDI Clock
The Beat Clock keeps your plug-ins in sync. Play in time with other apps and devices using Ableton Link or an external MIDI clock.
There’s even a metronome for keeping you on the beat while you practice.
Patches and Projects
Sessions Pro helps you keep track of your favourite sounds and performance data.
When you find a sound or plug-in combination you like, add it to the Patch Library. Over time, your Library will grow in a personally curated collection of the sounds that make your music yours.
Entire setups containing all Scene, Macro, Clock and Backing Track data can be saved as Project files. Projects are ideal for quickly loading sounds between songs or as templates, pre-loaded with your favourite plug-ins.
Continuous Recording
It’s happened to us all - we play something amazing and think "I wish I had recorded that” - Never again!
The Always-On Recorder continuously records what you’ve been playing for up to 15 minutes, without filling up your disk. As well as capturing happy accidents, the Always-On Recorder is useful for reviewing progress during practice and gives songwriters and sound designers confidence that a spark of inspiration will never be lost.
